Plenty of people in The WestR don’t consider them worthy of empathy, but a white woman of small stature who first became famous as a child might be a different story. We need a mass worldwide cultural shift to identifying all humans as part of the in group or we aren’t going to make it through this century.
It was 2 million across the country, not a single city. Still impressive though.
Italians shutting down their country to defend Palestinians and in America we can’t even strike to defend ourselves.
Those might be nice towns but at this point I’m staying away from any MAGA states, regardless of whether they have islands of sanity in them.
He may be a member of the Republican party but if you just look at his record as governor, you’d probably guess he’s a Democrat. Pro choice, trans rights, thoroughly anti Trump, and even a lot of his tax cuts seem to prioritize relief for the working poor rather than the leech investor class.
Also, this is anecdotal but I’ve spent some time in Vermont and the conservatives there who I met were by and large reasonable, open-minded, and anti-Trump (there were a couple of exceptions but nowhere is perfect).
We are not alone. And we should be getting louder.
Americans don’t want them here either, but Fascists have taken over. They are a minority of the population but have manipulated the dummies and our very flawed election process to impose their will on the rest of us.
Have you considered using a mesh VPN instead of opening a port to the public? Nebula and TailScale are both great options that have a free tier which is more than enough for most home use cases. With Nebula you can even selfhost your discovery node so nothing is cloud-based, but then you’re back to opening firewall ports again.
Anyway, its going to be more secure than even a properly configured reverse proxy setup and way less hassle.
