    I do think the Constitution only authorizes Congress to create and fund government agencies. The fact that the Republicans and Democrats are not fight this tooth and nail says a huge amount to me…

      There was a lawsuit from the AFGE (federal employees union) I think that they had to drop because it relied on the assumption that DOGE was a federal agency. When it was revealed that DOGE was just a renaming of the US Digital Service, that invalidated the premise of the lawsuit. Idk how the USDS had money lying around in its budget for a bunch of new and unqualified GS-15s to just be added to the payroll like government billets aren’t painstakingly difficult to establish, but that is another question, I suppose

        It wouldn’t surprise me at all if all the DOGEies are actually only getting paid a token amount by the government, or not getting paid by the government at all, but are getting paid directly by Musk. It’s probably illegal, but who’s gonna prosecute it?

    Didn’t they just rename the department of digital services? Can they just up and rename, reorganize, and repurpose an existing department is another question that needs answered.
