Both sides have their perspective and arguments. Reality is they’re both valid. People are arguing from silos though.
Precautions were 100% required and I would argue not enough.
But also I couldn’t imagine not being able to have a funeral for someone I love. I think it did impact learning at the time for many kids early on in their education. I think the way information was shared was ok but the media failed to highlight the right information at the right time.
It’s like this ICE stuff as well. Fuck ICE first off all. But from the sounds of it, they are removing people who were in the country illegally and that part isn’t really talked about on the left. By ignoring that key part I think it makes the left lose credibility with a lot of people. A lot of them are able to look over all this stuff because the end result is people who were there illegally are removed. The left can laugh all they want that Debra from Canada is having a leopard are her face moment. But it misses the fact that many are supportive of this including removing Debra. Places like Lemmy seem more focused on feelings or the audacity of how something is looking rather than what is happening.
Without context what you say may seem reasonable. Conservatives and Republicans have created this problem by preventing a solution to the Dreamers, cross-country labor, immigration reform, etc.
There are two real perspectives here. One is immigration is a useful tool and most immigrants here illegally provide valuable services to our country and are settled, have families, and work. The second is that immigrants are the source of our problems.
You speak of facts and feelings, but it is clear the conservatives have no facts and are all feelings. What you say is just their typical projection. To sum this up, conservatives are just wrong about immigration and instead base their perceptions on racism.
Come around to what?
