      you know woke as a term and signifier predates the industrial revolution, right? the sentiment shared in the post doesn’t have anything to do with social media. being indifferent to woke, anti-woke sentiments is ultimately anti-woke and reflects poorly on the holder of that stance

        According to wikipedia it was already a known term in the 1860’s. But that’s a hundred years after the industrial revolution started. Still a damn long time though.

          i guess i was mainly thinking of the second industrial revolution which was much more active in the region “woke” originated from than the first industrial revolution, so that’s on me

      I mean sure, you could ignore the struggles of others not like you and be like the the White Moderates in “Letter from a Birmingham Jail” - that is what most people do, no doubt.

      You don’t have to play the games the social media companies want you to.
