Okay, then what? Just stop trying?
This is the problem for American Liberals. Having no voice at the ballot box should inspire you, not constrain you.
You will only give up if you choose to.
There are countless options in front of you. It’s entirely up to you to figure out what those opportunities are.
Get creative.
You are just promoting defeatist attitude and offering nothing else. “Get creative” how about you get a backbone and say what you mean besides “stop voting”
People don’t understand where power resides in America even if they see all these oligarchs openly bribing politicians. Your votes don’t matter, they’re a performance that brings you some peace of mind, but they’re irrelevant. The power is concentrated in the rich who can then buy off policy makers because nobody in the administration and upper echelons of society (and extremely few people over there in general) have enough morals not to sell themselves to the highest bidder.
What do you think keeps American Liberals so willfully ignorant?
In the simplest of terms: partly the sea of propaganda they’ve been swimming in since they’ve been born (negatively affecting both ideology and mind over the years), partly their childish desire to put their heads in the sand and maybe if they wait it out they can keep the status quo. Liberals don’t want righteousness and justice, that would mean the end of the American empire and American privileges as we know them, so why would they want to think outside of the box?
This requires a longer evaluation and write-up that my hastily typed message can produce but I feel those are good starting points. They don’t know reality and, when they have glimpses of it, they deny it because why exchange comfort for morals and values? Soon the house of cards will come down either way and they’ll figure it out, every lib will become class-conscious, lol.
They’re job is wake themselves up. I worry they can’t.
