Someone who can be manipulated into assisting a cause significantly without realizing they’re used.
However, no one is a useful idiot forever, that only lasts until the people manipulating you have built enough evidence that they (Russia) can turn you (trump) into your own government (when America had one). At that point someone lays it and basically says “you’re in too deep, if we go down, you go down”.

Yeah, he was a full blown Russian agent, and the only way he cant get in trouble by Russia for that is if he controls the American government. Which he does currently, and he’s back to “useful idiot” again.
