Because it presents the opponent as a single-minded imbecile and doesn’t even attempt to address what might be motivating a person to have those beliefs (racism, poverty, lack of diversity during upbringing, religious beliefs, etc).

In any case, it’s a lazy comic. There’s no joke.

See, the problem with your argument there is that portraying your opponent as a single minded imbecile would be an example of strawman fallacy… if it wasn’t also completely and demonstrably true.

Is every Trump voter like this? No. But the majority are, and those are the people being depicted in the comic. Don’t like it? Maybe sit down and spend some time unpacking that reaction.

To be a pendant; this is not a strawman. A strawman is an argument that like a training dummy is stood up so that you can easily knock it down. The MAGA in the comic makes no argument at all; let alone one that is easy to defeat.

If it fits into any type of fallacy; it would be appeal to absurdity. The comic paints the MAGA as a mindless idiot; a caricature of reality.

If anything it shows that the woman; with the bored look on her face, knows what she is doing is pointless, yet she persists. Knowing her efforts are meaningless.

Much like how it’s pointless arguing against her fans, since they seem to see her as infallible even though she’s as toxic as they come
