I agree that apathy is really fucking shitty, but you guys abroad have to realize that there are groups of people who genuinely are trying to get things to change.
By pissing on these people who are celebrating protests, you’re weakening the will of the people to fight back. People aren’t going to want to change when they don’t feel like it’ll do anything.

I think most people there who are against this are just too tired to care at this point and are saving their energy for the next election. I don’t know if I agree with this sentiment. If you haven’t noticed. We can’t seem to organize a decent-sized nonviolent protest. Hell, we couldn’t even vote this away knowing it was going to happen. The number of citizens that wanted this to happen outnumbered those that didn’t, and was actually helped by the remainder that refused to vote because of single issue bullshit and the fact that they’re fucking idiots.
I’d be willing to bet that there’s not a free-thinking and capable person here that wouldn’t fight for their lives and the lives of those they love if/when it comes to it- but as of now, anyone with a brain knows how futile any fight would be.
But by all means, don’t let this get in the way of all the fun you’re having making fun of people that are suffering and terrified about what’s being done to them here.
