The secretary responded: “Habeas corpus is a constitutional right that the president has to be able to remove people from this country.”
The second part is scarier: “I also recognize that the President of the United States has the authority under the Constitution to decide if it should be suspended or not.”
She believes that the president doesn’t have to do what he swore to do.
Habeas corpus has only been around as a legal concept for almost 900 years, how can you expect her to keep up with such fast-paced changes?
