I found this funny flow chart about traditional social media. I am wondering if there is a info graphic like this but with social media of the fediverse. If this does not exist, can someone create it?

Reddit is definitely for opinionated people that can’t keep their mouth shut. And has quite a few bigots too. So this chart is unrealistically complimentary of redditors - I’m guessing you found it on reddit, which explains the judgemental opinion about TikTok and Insta.

The original image seems related to Westernsphere social media huh

Facebook in my region (Southeast Asia) is still filled with Gen Z, wirh various niche groups that often have more than 100K members. From anime meme to satirical anti-corruption group. Or fried chicken seller group and book barter for your small city.

I was active moderating on one local music group band on FB with 250K members.

I hope I can change Facebook for fediverse, but there’s still no Facebook group alternative and actual active community on fediverse to make it happen.

“Got a Job?” for LinkedIn? The amount of desperate unemployed people there sharing yet another online certificate they’ve completed makes me think otherwise. 😬

Both products of the same company but they seem like quite different experiences and userbases to me. Anecdotally, facebook is where my dad sends his friends things he found funny and instagram is where my brother posts pictures of his nights out

This. They are run quite separately (even though cross posting is possible). IG is on a roll currently as the legal status of Tiktok is shaky in the US, and Instagram managed to replicate the majority of features.

No, they are different pieces of software connected to different databases. They are run by the same company, but my understanding is Instagram is mostly about photos while Facebook has a wider variety of purposes (none of it it serves very well), eg microblogging, discussion groups, company pages, and others too.
