Bannon’s opinion doesn’t matter in the same way my opinion on how to perform open heart surgery doesn’t matter because I don’t know anything about open heart surgery.
Also what’s disgusting is Spotify recently allowed Bannon’s podcast back on. That’s why I’m again calling for people to contact Spotify and complain about bringing War Room back, about Joe Rogan’s disinformation and Andrew Tate’s hate. Or consider canceling your subscription and when you cancel fill out the reason why you canceled, mention it’s because of Bannon, Rogan and Tate.

Boycott Twitter, boycott Tesla, boycott Starlink, buy stocks in SpaceX’s competitors. Keep boycotting until he’s bankrupt.

BoycottPro@lemm.eeto World News@lemmy.world•Tesla faces collapsing sales in Canada's Québec province, with new registrations tumbling 85%English0·10 days agoGood! Bring it down to 100% and also bring down Twitter usage to similar levels! Build fiber to rural areas so they won’t need Starlink or if you currently use Starlink see if fixed wireless is possible, maybe with a parabolic antenna on your roof or on an antenna tower you could get a signal. Keep boycotting Elon Musk until he’s bankrupt.
BoycottPro@lemm.eeto politics @lemmy.world•From a gilded perch, Trump tries to retain the common touch0·11 days agoThere are some lessons here in the article that I think other politicians can learn from. We’re often baffled why some people like Trump so much. It explains how he’s able (from the perspective of a supporter) feel raw, authentic and validate their concerns.
Of course we don’t like him because we study his actions, not his words and know that the “solutions” he’s proposing aren’t going to help his supporters or help anyone except perhaps the richest of the richest or rather the very wealth people within his inner circle and even then it seems like he’s not helping all of the rich or anybody because he’s hurting the economy which impacts us all no matter how rich or poor.
So I think the lesson is a politician who could evoke a similar feeling of authenticity without the divisiveness paired with real progressive solutions that will help the average American would do very well in an election and as president.

He’s not really leaving, he’s just going to be running things in the shadows. We must not fall for Musk’s ruse. He’s a huge threat to our national and will be a huge threat until he’s bankrupt or behind bars.
Keep boycotting Tesla, keep boycotting Twitter, keep boycotting Starlink. Keep urging other people to do the same thing.

BoycottPro@lemm.eeto politics @lemmy.world•Ted Cruz begs Americans stop being so nasty to Elon Musk0·14 days agoWe must increase our pressure against Elon Musk. Until he’s bankrupt or behind bars he’s still a huge threat to our country. Boycott all his companies. Sell your Tesla stock (it’s high right now I can’t predict the future but maybe it’s peaked right now), stop using Twitter if you use it. Contact pension funds and demand they divest from Tesla.
For Starlink If you think it’s the only choice for you maybe if you’re just on the edge of cell phone reception you can use a parabolic antenna to get a reliable signal for 5g internet. This will likely be lower cost than Starlink. OneWeb has a competing service but they don’t sell directly, I’m not sure how you can switch to OneWeb. Project Kuiper just launched their first satellites about a month ago. AST SpaceMobile might be an option too. If those options aren’t available to you I predict there will be more alternatives for Starlink within the coming years.
BoycottPro@lemm.eeto World News@lemmy.world•Global warming target unlikely to be reached, UN saysEnglish0·15 days agoWe have the power to fight back! Contact politicians in your country and demand a faster transition to renewable energy. The economic harms caused by climate change are far greater than the cost of switching to renewable energy.
One possible idea I had is to take advantage of global anti-Trump sentiment and urge countries especially those hit hard by Trump’s tariffs to fight back by buying less fossil fuels especially less fossil fuels from the U.S. I’m not sure if people from other countries understand just how influential the U.S. fossil fuel industry is in electing Trump and Republicans. It’s similar to how people are (unfortunately too slowly it seems) moving away from buying Russian fossil fuels.
So when you boycott fossil fuels you’re stopping authoritarian regimes and saving the planet.
Totally agree here, another good reason to cancel your Spotify account.
Of course you can!
I look forward to the day I never hear about this guy again.
What’s shameful is Spotify is still allowing some of Andrew Tate’s content. If you have a Spotify account please consider contacting Spotify and send them a message saying you want Andrew Tate completely removed, want Spotify to stop funding Joe Rogan and demand a feature to block podcasts the same way you can block artists for songs. Also maybe consider ending your Spotify subscription. When you cancel your subscription you will be prompted to explain why you’re canceling. It’s crucial to fill you the reason. Say you’re canceling because you don’t like Andrew Tate and Joe Rogan.

Here’s What We Need To Do To Stop Trump.English0·15 days agoI see this article as being step one or maybe I’d say step zero for people. You’re healing from the abuse caused by Trump. I think even if people only did what this article suggested and nothing else it would make a fairly big different, I don’t think it would completely stop him. The advice in the article applies to everyone including those in the media who are enabling Trump.
For those who’s mental health is hurt following these steps will allow them to have more energy and focus for combating Trump.
If you want some actionable items I would suggest helping people boycott the biggest donors to the GOP. Boycott Elon Musk by boycotting Twitter and Boycotting Tesla, this is most important boycott since he was the biggest donor. There are initial signs the boycotts are starting to work, if we keep the pressure up we can defeat the highest donor to the GOP. Then we can move on to other high donors to the GOP such as Uline. I would also recommend in parallel start working towards building more political will for moving away from fossil fuels, since they’re hurting the planet and also because they donate tons of money to the GOP.

Also note that the Reddit links I clicked on are all heavily downvoted.
Denise is a person that’s been long involved in trust and safety analyzed a lot of the Gaza accounts and found that https://bsky.app/profile/rahaeli.bsky.social/post/3lpxyoe4efk26 only 18% of Gazans were actually posting in Gaza time. Of course she didn’t publish hard data so this claim isn’t 100% scientific either but the poster is pretty reputable I feel.
Note later as a counterargument to this I did find one person who claimed they have a 4 AM morning prayer. I don’t know how many Gazans take part in that. https://bsky.app/profile/anothersmd.bsky.social/post/3lpyetkltys2y I did verify that some websites say they have a prayer at around 4 AM.
Also if you’ve ever used Bluesky before it used to be that you’d get random replies and mentions asking for money, recently they’ve gotten this much better under control.
So I think what is really happening is people post unsolicited requests for money on posts that are unrelated and they get correctly marked as spam.

BoycottPro@lemm.eeto World News@lemmy.world•How Trump has turbocharged a Canadian province’s quest for independence | Lisa YoungEnglish0·16 days agoTwitter could be used as a weapon against Canada to promote destabilizing political movements such as the Alberta separatists mentioned in the article. I’d go as far as to say that Twitter under Elon Musk functions effectively as an extension or an arm of the Trump regime. No one should be using Twitter, especially those in other countries who are at risk of foreign influence from the Trump regime.
That’s why I’m calling on Canadians to boycott Twitter and urge institutions, business, universities, sports teams and celebrities to switch to Bluesky. Most websites have an about or contact-us section. Use that and urge them to boycott Twitter.
You can get USB-C IR blasters and add it to any phone. Also there are some 3.5mm headphone jack ones too but I’m not sure if those would be supported as well.
