Would be a great service for the community to have it up and running again.

I remember that map, it was a great resource. Like you say, visualizing defederations would be especially helpful.
I would have thought there should be several hurdles for a FederatedFans type site: money being one, legality being another and content control a third. How do you ensure your content is only showed to paying members once it’s been federated?
However Mitra seems to exist, though I have no further info about it as literally found it just now.

It’s great that Piefed is adding them, but as long as Lemmy is the largest bulk of users it won’t really be all that impactful. Flairs lose their utility (or fun, depending on the type and context) when only like 1% of the users can see them.
I do miss user flairs. I hope Lemmy adds then too eventually.

They need to fucking run with this in their programming. It’s such a powerful contrast to billion dollar baby and Peter Thiel’s plaything. He is demonstrably not in it for the money. He’s just a guy, trying to improve people’s lives and that’s it.
I was not aware of aggregatet.org, that’s a cool instance. An instance run by a democratic organisation is interesting. Left leaning too. Might have to make an account there actually.
