Its all good! Lemmy isnt going to downvote you to hell for repeating something a year old. We are not reddit ;)
How does the wordpress integration work? I haven’t seen much articles talking about it lately. Can I post from mastodon to a wordpress?
Will talk about Linux, plants, space, retro games, and anything else I find interesting.
Also mesamunefire@piefed.social over on Piefed.

Just FYI, this is an old article.
There is some interesting tools that have come out because of this:
From my experience, its been very hard to find people that use the bridge both from bluesky and mastodon. But it does work. Im still looking for a browser extension that makes the process of following a bluesky account from mastodon easier. Its not very user friendly ATM.
Ive used this in the past to host an email server. Eventually, my ISP actually stopped allowing people to use mail ports, so I had to discontinue. But it worked very well when I used it many years ago.
Aww I didn’t know about the trans thing :(
Cant seem to get it working? I tried the hashtag, its not doing anything, no change registered.
Yeah jeroboa is awesome! They did great work.
Piefed/mbin both have better fediverse integration with other platforms. Lemmy has the numbers and is super fast + apps.
I created !peertube@lemmy.world in case anyone finds channels, videos, ect that they like.
We can help with the discovery!
Yeah the search is the worst part. As others have said the technology is there, we just need a better search.
The other issue is Lemmy (and perhaps other platforms) has issues with Peertube channels. I can’t direct link Peertube for activityhub posts. Lemmy is a no go. !teddy_the_dog@piped.chrisco.me Piefed for example works: https://piefed.social/c/teddy_the_dog@piped.chrisco.me
I host one and don’t plan on taking it down anytime soon! If anyone likes dog videos: @teddy_the_dog@piped.chrisco.me
He’s a good boy.
I dont :) Mostly.
Honestly I have an auto backup system. And then set it up to auto update periodically. Then use Debian Server as it almost never breaks as a server distro.
Filters in the fediverse are so nice.
I didn’t realize they were switching over to WordPress to be honest.
Most servers do. Depends on their block/allow list and their setup.
The software supports it, you just need to make sure one of your users has followed an account/lemmy community on the pixelfed side and make sure a lemmy account follows an account on the pixelfed side.
Its not a perfect solution, but it gets the job done after that. (I tested this on an older version of lemmy and a new bleeding edge version of pixelfed)
One of the biggest ongoing issues with lemmy is that all the other fediverse systems generally work together pretty well but then you get to lemmy and it works…kinda? Mostly? But there is always quirks, like only being able to post but not see comments. as I say on lemmy :). I like the platform because of the ongoing community that seems to stick around and have sustainable growth (like oooold reddit).
Excellent. They are seeing huge growth. I’m hoping it’s sustainable, the main server is just getting slammed right now (according to the mastodon posts).
According to fedidb all they need is 70k ish more people and I get will surpass Lemmy in number of users.
Personally, I think a sweet spot would be to ask users when they sign up what kind of experience they want. Let them decide and make it easy to change later.
“Do you want your posts to be followed by Mastodon/Fediverse?” Yes/No/I dunno (No/I dunno are the same with a bit more info). Something like that. Then if they have it on, have a button like mastodon that makes it easy to follow outside the network.
The current way of having both accounts follow a certain account is difficult enough that most dont do it.
