When I met the woman who would become my wife, I knew nothing of biology. She wasn’t a biologist but was far more knowledgeable on the subject than I. (Side note: this is still true.)

You certainly should! The early episodes are very much a product of their time, so they’ve perhaps lost a bit of their appeal in the intervening time … Or maybe not, I’ve not watched those seasons in a while.

However, the newer seasons are all excellent in my opinion.

The episode I originally referenced has the family lose a dog, then resurrect with results that horrify most of the characters. I think it might be in season one.

This was basically the plot of an early American Dad! episode.
