Elon Musk publicly mused about creating a new political party this week, an idea that could escalate the billionaire’s feud with his onetime ally President Trump.

Musk first floated the idea on Thursday. In between jabs at Mr. Trump, the billionaire posted a poll to X asking his 220 million followers if they think it’s “time to create a new political party in America that actually represents the 80% in the middle.”

A day later, Musk noted that 80% of respondents to the poll backed the idea.

I don’t think he’s going to run to Russia. The moment he does, he all of his US companies will be seized. So if he wants to go, he’s going to need to find a way to very quickly liquidate everything without the federal government noticing. But you can be sure that the spy agencies are watching him. He’s already too powerful for comfort, and it’s their job to spy on people like him.

And do what? It was very clear that if Trump got elected he’d take a wrecking ball to the country that we will probably never recover from, at the behest of a hostile foreign leader he’s been openly conspiring with for decades. What exactly did they did to stop him?

They can nationalize half of his companies without a big effort. Musk he’s been acting like a jerk for years now, if they want to ditch him is a matter of nothing. He’s a drogatic, he stole US citizens data, he’s been playing with stocks for years.

Sure, they could, and probably should. But evidence suggests they won’t. So what’s the point of them spying on him? They’ll collect a bunch of information and do nothing about it.
