Euro is short for Europe, not for the EU.
The euro is the official currency of the EU.
“Euro” is only short for Europe if you’re American and going on your “Euro trip” to London and Paris, otherwise it’s a currency

I’ve used it sometimes, as have others I know. The most common I’ve seen and use is still “EU” to just mean europe though. In contrast to “the EU”, which is the European Union.
I have never met a European who’d use “EU” or “Euro” as a shortened version of “Europe” as a continent
because i wanted to clarify what i meant.
Then do that instead of misleading edits
