I like the lighter color of these compared to the daikon radish and I’m already starting to see the red/pink hue of the stems showing. The germination rate seems very high. My rule now is strict 24 hour soak, for both radish and peas, and then move to water swap and blackout phase. My main recent mistake has been soaking for too long, which increases the time to sprout considerably and can kill the seeds. The fuzz is from the roots, not mold.
The main problem I had is that some seeds fall through the side holes, so I’ve lost maybe about ~3%. I probably could filter them out when I swap the bottom water tray and put them back into the top tray, but they get drowned and it’s more work. A second problem is spreading them evenly in the tray. I’ve figured out that raising the water level to be a couple millimetres above the mesh lets me tap and splash them to spread more evenly.
Once they reach this stage the hardest parts are done, which is why I’m posting. Any tips or suggestions are greatly appreciated, thank you.
