Article updated to say that an appeals court has overturned that ruling, so Trump ca still control them for now, unfortunately.
Why is it always a temporary ruling? Then we never hear about it again.
It’s a ruling pending the actual trial which will happen later. Procedurally, this is done when the action being restrained is likely or liable to cause irreparable harm in the time between now or the trial, or when the case is so cut and dried that the judge expects it to be settled out of court in the interim.
