How could you even compare South Park to the Simpsons?

The Simpsons is sometimes political. South Park is always highly political.

As a Canadian, the moment they went to paramount, the show was basically done. It disappeared from syndication and every other platform. And after all the tegridy farms stuff, I got bored of the show.

This trump stuff is the only South Park I’ve seen in years

He doesn’t have to. Someone at some point will preemptively comply. Most of what’s happening in the US now isn’t anyone being compelled by law- it’s a bunch of cowards bending over and submissively obeying what they assume Trump may well want them to do.

Also a huge Trump ally is going to be the owner of Paramount Global, the company that owns Comedy Central. It’s probably why Parker and Stone have decided to satirize Trump this time, unlike during Trump’s first term.

I’ve been predicting since the election that sooner or later, Disney and Netflix are gonna purge all their LGBT content. I’m surprised it hasn’t happened yet. Good thing Trump doesn’t care about movies and TV as much as I do.

I agree. Ironically it’s hitting hard with a lot people that stopped watching it and came back for the Trump stuff.

The ironic part being that it’s funny to people because of nostalgia and not really the jokes I think. Because it’s really fucking lazy imo. Like, is the Sadam/Satan and using that voice anything but just trying to hit the “remember this” really hard? Its not creative or really making a point. Though people try to act like it is.

South Parks previous mockery with the 'member berries could literally be used to criticize how a lot of liberals are taking “comfort” in it. Seeing it as a “this too shall pass” and that we’ll somehow return to normal in 2028 or something.

I have no problems with people that enjoy it. But it’s not funny to me AND i see it not moving the needle at all in getting people to do anything to resist these fascist. So I really can’t appreciate it on literally the two things people act like it’s doing.

I agree, though I’m not yet sure if it’s the show being different than it was a decade or so ago or me being different.

Matt and Trey are killing it this season. And the best part is they own the IP so they can tell Paramount/Skydance to go fuck themselves at their leisure.
