Too many people pearl clutching today over worries of retributive violence, as if the fascists aren’t already going to be committing that violence on us in the near future regardless. It’s not too early to say that this scumbag deserved much worse and I’m glad he got rocked so publicly. Murder is strictly the illegal killing of someone.
If it is legal to target a minority group it may be illegal for that minority group to resist.
You can end up with a situation where Alice killing Bob is legal and not murder, but Bob killing Alice in self defence is murder.
In such cases the morality of Bob engaging in self defense is not so easily encompassed in “murder is wrong.”
So from a historical context:
A Nazi killing a Jew during WWII was not murder but a Jew killing a Nazi was.
A modern perspective:
A Israeli killing Palestinians is not murder, but a Palestinians killing Isrealis is.
