Centrist Democrats like Kamala Harris and Gavin Newsom seem to think the best way to disparage Donald Trump is to highlight his departures from free-market orthodoxy. Good luck with that.

When will they learn that fascism is the marriage of corporation and state. Stop using “communism” as a boogeyman, nobody under 50 takes you seriously for saying it.
and my new philosophy is fuck corporations. any and all of them. I want nothing they make, I refuse to consume and have chosen to purposely live with nothing except my guitar. I am letting everything I own stay broken when it breaks and I refuse to replace it.
companies are liars, thieves and fraudsters. I refuse to give them the light of day or care about anything they say/claim/want to sell.
I’m done. you can find me under a big tree in a park, with a physical book that I bought at a garage sale from a neighbour, and a guitar at the ready.
tldr; screw modern society and whatever the hell this is now. I refuse to participate
I’m with you, I’ll be in my garden growing vegetables.
I’m with you. You can still have nice-ish stuff though. Buy second-hand and buy from small companies/independent sellers, they’re not usually evil.
My man, for the love of God, just steal it instead if you’re pissed about corporate duplicity and greed. What are you going to do when your shoes wear out, wrap poorly-tanned game hides around your feet like some Cro-Mangnon cobbler?
I’ll deal with that when I get there… I’ve stopped buying generic shoes from 95% of stores be sure they require replacing in less then a year. my last pair were substantially more but actual quality and have lasted me going on 4 years now.
why does it bother you that I feel everything is so screwed up and I want no part of it. let it all crash imo… I’m done being a pawn for someone else
You’re maybe misunderstanding me slightly, it’s difficult to covey tone via text. It’s not that it bothers me, it’s that you’re not Diogenes, who had a difficult enough time of what you’re proposing in the 4th cen. B.C… If you hate corpos like a lot of us, completely withdrawing from general societal activities isn’t sticking it to them, they’re already losing the profits gained from the business of people who they’re ruining by driving into poverty, or those who boycott them, and are largely unaffected by it.
It’s a moral & philosophical decision, I get it, but you’re not having an effect on them or their bottom line anymore than someone breaking their hands by pounding on a stone wall. Living in self-imposed deprivation will likely have the same effect on you as anyone else who’s had it imposed on them, which is to say that it will endanger you and your overall health in a potentially significant way by shaving decades off it in a worst case scenario.

that’s a lot of reading, I’ll read it after I’m finished digging my hobbit hole in a forest somewhere.
Off topic, but I think it’s funny that the cutoff for a more modern worldview ends at 50 now, because all the older millennials are well into their 40s now and we have to include them because they were a main driving force behind “occupy” movement 14 years ago.
10 years ago you saw “under 40” being thrown around. 😂
Lol am elder millennial around 40, how could you guess?
I have lots of Gen X friends who are lifelong allies too. But a lot of folks over 50 are still living in the Cold War.
