Zero percent of the MAGA agenda is dependent on the anti-trans component.

If they just dropped it or never had it in the first place, this would be zero reason to drop out. Not that merit matters to these clowns, but what if this guy happened to be some sort of game-changing, MAGA expanding savant? Lol.

I dunno, fascism always requires an already vulnerable mostly fictional bogeyman to easily attack. Trans folk are already one of the most murdered groups in society, small as a % of the population, and often not highly visible.

That makes it very easy for republicans to demonize trans people with fewer of their audience having personal experience that contradicts the fictional account presented.

It also helps them police gender in a way that bolsters their anti-women agenda.

I think the anti-trans component is very useful for their fascist project.

The literal Nazis started with trans people, too. (It’s unclear why Niemöller failed to mention them in his poem, but it’s true.)

It’s very possible (even likely) that he was transphobic, but it’s also possible he didn’t know about them or that he didn’t consider them a significant enough demographic to mention.
