Judge Michael Farbiarz of the U.S. District Court for New Jersey said that the government’s attempt to continue to detain Khalil was “highly, highly, highly unusual.” Farbiarz recently ruled that Khalil’s arrest and detention over his pro-Palestinian activism at Columbia University likely violated the Constitution.

How many more of these stories need to come out before us around the rest of the world stop treating the United States like a democracy? They aren’t. I’m so exhausted of this fucking sane washing. It’s a goddamn terrorist state.

What do you mean by “treating like a democracy”? What countries have you seen treating the US in high regards recently? Or, what do you want to change?

As the spouse of an immigrant, this feels huge. Like we can breathe. There are limits to the despot’s authority. It doesn’t all have to end in tears and blood.

They deported hundreds of individuals, and there are still masked officers abducting people in the streets. This is one small victory in a great big war that we’re all losing.

If they refuse to show law enforcement ID, they are just armed people impersonating law enforcement. Call 911!

Not the above commenter but one could argue that this will create pressure by generating friction between police departments and federal agencies that will ultimately have to be resolved with some kind of concession involving identification, however minor, that could be considered a win.

Maybe… I feel like they’ll just come, give the nod and keep fucking up the peasants since they both have the same job more or less.

Like no shit dude. ONCE AGAIN, my spouse is an immigrant. Not a citizen.

Thanks for reminding me of the horrors that we’re trying to deal with every fuckin day. Today, I celebrate the freedom of an individual. Tomorrow, I go back to those who aren’t.

Is this hypothetical for you? It’s not for me.
