There’s a podcast about Alex Jones I like to listen to, it’s called knowledge fight. They point this dissonance out in almost every episode. It’s interesting to hear how Jones deals with it. He seems intent on believing that Trump is every freedom-loving 'muricans dream come true, and not exactly the thing he vowed to fight tooth and nail for decades. Neither was ever true though: he’s a grifter.

They’re shocked by the speed and extent, not the mere fact that Trump is doing this. I’m sure “top climate experts” have been warning about this in general and Trumpism in particular for many years.
