So Musk being cast out means all of a sudden they care about security?
Perfectly demonstrating that the in/out group separation is the only principle they care about.

Hoping the third party fractures the right is all you can hope for while we’re a first-past-the-post voting country. Any new party popular enough to displace a party will simply become the other second party and create the same mediocrity. Until then, it would just siphon votes from the closest two-party option.
The only way this gets fixed is by ranked choice or similar voting systems, that remove the tactical voting incentive.
Steinbeck - Of Mice and Men. But it’s become a self-sustaining parody at this point.

Yeah, I saw that. Seems like the bill is the bigger story though, to be honest. The bill is trying to Trojan horse a lot of worse things in.
JD: Just look over there. Over there, picture it. We’re gonna have a little place.
Musk: A little place.
JD: With some… water reclaimers…and potato fields. Far as the eye can see. Maybe a little protein farm.
Musk: With lettuce! For the crickets! And I get to tend the cricke-
Sure, why not? I hear Russia is extremely drug-use-positive and cultivates oligarchs who don’t submit to authority.
Just the inevitable result when two thin-skinned narcissists are in the same room.
I’m game, but what? The Cronenbergian spending bill? That’s the trigger for this entire fight, doesn’t exactly put it under the radar.
It’s especially funny because Trump’s team’s best idea for de-escalation is a 1950s husband telling everyone their wife is just hysterical.
Republicans: The richest 0.01% doesn’t have enough of everyone’s money, and unfortunately someone is going to have to pay for that. Sorry, bottom 90%, but you can make do with less.
And cheer up - if you can’t pay for health care out of pocket, you can always just die.
Sounds inefficient, but if your goal is to create deep fear and trauma, it’s pretty darn efficient!
Careful, we can’t complain or they’ll replace them with someone even more incompetent!
Oracle is a surprising one. Larry Ellison is the Ur-right-wing techbro. I wish there was more about this.
Gee, it’s almost like bad things happen when you don’t give people a hearing, due process, or investigate allegations.
Trump, Miller, Noem and the ICE bootlickers are so drunk with unchecked power. They have qualified immunity to civil liability but they are not immune to criminal violations. And they are in fact acting criminally by unlawfully restraining people including US citizens, and refusing to recognize established constitutional rights.
So what is left to do? Arrest the ICE members is what needs to happen. Normally, the DOJ would punish those who violate criminal and constitutional laws, but Bondi does not and has never intended to defend the Constitution or prosecute ICE. The US Attorneys are nearly all replaced. Local law enforcement has the same authoritarian sympathies and have almost universally ended up helping ICE. I suppose the last line of defense is citizen’s arrest. But Bondi will certainly make examples of regular people if they try to arrest ICE members.
Realistically, what’s left?
“Inside you are two weird d----,” posted Bluesky user April Wolfe. “This is about Katie Miller.”
Ok, calling it. That might be the most efficient roast of three people ever.
Nope, you’re good.
HuffPost puts out a lot of filler articles, but this isn’t one of them.
Even though the writer pulls a few punches in the name of professional responsibility (yes, we know Trump isn’t your patient, but let’s just agree, he meets all the criteria of a narcissist), Trump’s use of narcissistic abuser tactics is the single most important observation we need to collectively make to recover as a country. I’ve been banging this drum for a long time - we are trapped in a compulsory relationship with Trump.
Mass media allows Trump to personally abuse us to ensure we keep giving him attention and acceding our power. There’s no difference between us and another domestic psychological abuse victim, except that we’re multiplied by 350 million and Trump has unprecedented power to make our lives miserable to get what he wants.
Until we call this what it is - narcissistic abuse - we’re never going to break out of it.
I might as well ask here, since I’ve been wondering for awhile: is it even possible Trump thinks that painted-ham, death-mask-on-a-flatbed-scanner picture looks good?
