Definitely not 50, but most of the red states would qualify.
Some states are deliberately not involved in conversations about quality of living or life expectancy or education. If the US didn’t have a handful of blue states holding onto rights it would be like the others that give up and become a sedentary police state where we only do what we are allowed.
That kind of describes Mississippi. They just sort of gave up.
Mississippi school literacy rates are now near the top in the country, they stuck to phonics instead of that new style
