    The bill passed, though.

    218-214 :

    212 DNC Nays
    2 GOP Nays
    218 GOP Yays

The bill keeps the 2017 tax cuts for the rich but did not remove the social security tax cuts like promised, among other changes. It cuts mediaid, medicare, NASA, and SNAP. Additionally it added 80 hr/mo work requirements to medicaid which must be filed monthly.

Am I missing something? I assume anyone who isn’t direly opposed to the regime and on board with the resistance, is, in fact, 100% good with the gutting of government programs, the loss of benefits and the massive purges, including eventually themselves.

I just assumed that a trillion-dollar far right propaganda machine is more than enough to convince most of the US public they want fascist autocracy, and eventually monarchy. They’re on board with Joffrey Baratheon just killing whoever he feels like.

Last fall, the politics subreddit was FILLED with idiots who claimed that the polls were fake, that the news was rigged, and that Kamala was really leading by 15 points.

I know that’s not directly relevant, but I’m just sick of people trying to pretend that things aren’t as bad as they are.

And I kept running the numbers showing Biden was losing, and how Harris started strong but watched her lead evaporate.

Was downvoted every time and told “The only poll that matters is election day!”

I repeatedly pointed out, the reason you track polling over time is to see where the support was heading and her support was disintegrating.

Meidas Touch is not doing better journalism than the GOP owned media.

Their titles and thumbnails are clickbait, but I disagree here. First, plenty of YouTubers have shared that clickbait titles lead to more views at an insanely high ratio, so it’s worth it.

Yeah, integrity might oppose, but if you have a message to send, you gotta go to your audience. I can see both sides, I personally wouldn’t do it, but I would rather have their voice than not.

Their journalism IS better than legacy media right now. That’s just the said state of current media. CBS could have defeated the shakedown lawsuit, chose to settle. Paramount could have, chose to settle. None asking the hard questions when they have GOP on as guests.

Meidas Touch doesn’t get GOP interviewees that I’ve seen, so we can’t compare apples to apples, but I bet they would ask a better question than what is little better than “why are republicans so great” like Fox does.

That said, I long for the days (if they really existed before the 80s) of true investigative journalism and reporters of immense integrity without as much concern for ratings and profit.

Not to mention the new flagpoles at the white House, both measuring 88 feet.

Yes, it sounds like it’s not real, but you’ll find it easy in a search

I believe it could be true, but why would anyone bother. No one’s measuring the things. They could just say they were. I mean who’s going to try to prove how many feet below the surface they are buried. So if the flag pole is 80ft above the surface and 10% below like a standard bury, it’s 88ft. Don’t understand why you would make them taller than the white house though.

Nah I get it, would have bothered me if I re-read what I wrote. 8.8. I just meant no one is going to measure above or below and such. The old shifty decimal deci system make it easy math thing haha.

Side note there was a large pole like that in front of the office building I worked at. Huge metal pole. The flag was taken down before a hurricane, the hole thing came down anyways. Bent and snapped. To be fair the entire building was fucked as well. Made the front page of the newspapers in LA. Never a good thing to hear on the east coast
