The City of Glendale in Los Angeles County said in a statement on Sunday that the decision to end the agreement DHS and ICE was “not made lightly.”

Newsom and all Democratic governors should immediately start requiring all National Guard troops to attend classes or seminars on their legal rights and what to do when given an illegal order.

I have nothing of conversational value to add, but would like to state for the record that Stephen Miller can suck the shit right out of my asshole. In fact, I’ll make a Taco Bell run in advance just to be sure it’s worth your while.

ICE and their various fed retainers will still waltz into these neighborhoods without consequence. All it means is that they can’t count on local cooperation.

They haven’t been able to. That’s why the national guard was called. Because people blocked ICE, and their targets were able to go home without being kidnapped.

No thanks to the police, but ICE can’t just waltz into these neighbors anymore

Confrontations with ICE are the exception, not the rule. They are grabbing hundreds if not thousands of people successfully every single day. They claim almost universal jurisdiction and are not prohibited from operating anywhere, and ignore the law when they are anyway.

The national guard is not there because of any practical challenges of manpower. They are there to normalize the use of military assets to crush dissent, and to instigate a reason to declare martial law. This was likely planned by Project 2025 architects long before Trump took office.

Unless the local police are willing to draw down on federal agents this is hardly a speedbump.

In many neighborhoods in LA it is the rule, not the exception. That’s why the national guard was called in LA

The agreement allowed detainees to be housed at the Glendale Police Department facility

Not having local cops for backup and support is a good thing too.

The agreement allowed detainees to be housed at the Glendale Police Department facility, which provided access to virtual and in-person visitation.

City leaders acknowledged the change could make family visits more difficult, and warned that access to legal representation might be more limited at other facilities.

“Nevertheless, despite the transparency and safeguards the city has upheld, the city recognizes that public perception of the ICE contract—no matter how limited or carefully managed, no matter the good—has become divisive,” the city said in a press release.

Yes I would say it’s quite “divisive” to allow jackbooted thugs wearing face covers to arrest our friends, family, and neighbors with impunity because their bigot leader has them all whipped up into a frenzy. So glad they figured this out lmao
