The City of Glendale in Los Angeles County said in a statement on Sunday that the decision to end the agreement DHS and ICE was “not made lightly.”

They haven’t been able to. That’s why the national guard was called. Because people blocked ICE, and their targets were able to go home without being kidnapped.

No thanks to the police, but ICE can’t just waltz into these neighbors anymore

Confrontations with ICE are the exception, not the rule. They are grabbing hundreds if not thousands of people successfully every single day. They claim almost universal jurisdiction and are not prohibited from operating anywhere, and ignore the law when they are anyway.

The national guard is not there because of any practical challenges of manpower. They are there to normalize the use of military assets to crush dissent, and to instigate a reason to declare martial law. This was likely planned by Project 2025 architects long before Trump took office.

Unless the local police are willing to draw down on federal agents this is hardly a speedbump.
