The Federal Police Commissioner of Germany has expressed disapproval of police officers’ membership in the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party.

      I don’t have any experience with police in Europe but in North America you would give them a paid vacation till things blow over and perhaps shuffle them around to another dept and let them spoil another bunch.

        Police in Europe are less fucked up than in the US but generally still suffer from all the same sorts of problems, they’re still pigs

          Here in germany i think the main problem areas here are more the groups like Special Task Forces, etc. They tend to attract a specific kind of people and sort out early on what does not fit their mindset.

          In the normal police force there are quite a lot of people with migration background. up to 35% in some areas. That helps immensely to keep assholes in check. Apart from the better and longer (3 years) training and the focus on de-escalation.

          Except in this case you probably wouldn’t even need to, because right wing views are somewhat of a prerequisite of the job.
