Wow I wonder what will happen to all those people who have been producing wonderful documentaries, education, interviews and children’s programming for several years, if not decades? I bet they’ll be upset, so much that it might change their views on things somewhat.

Unrelated, but have you heard of these wildly popular social media platforms called tiktok and YouTube where people are able to produce their own programs? Technology sure is is wonderful.

Help replace the lost funding. $5/month or $60/year to your local station gets you access to PBS Passport streaming.

If you want to, you can donate more when you sign up, those are just the minimums.

I genuinely thought the future would be a better place if so many kids grew up watching the same shit I did.

It makes no sense to me how you can stare at PBS programming for hours a day without a choice or be able to scroll or grab a controller, then grow up to like, cheer on people being put in concentration camps.

It makes me really feel like our species is hopeless. We would have maybe another 100,000 years of evolution in perfect circumstances to be the species that even all wants better outcomes together. We don’t even want that. We’re nowhere CLOSE to the Star Trek socialist utopia that poor sci-fi writers imagine we could be and will never have it in our present shape.

Even the average “progressive” who reads this site every day is isolated socially, despises some group of people, maybe for good reasons but besides the point, it’s our default mode of operation because we’re the same fucking monkey that bashed our neighboring tribe’s skulls in and took their jerky and berries for half a million years or more before some of them started inventing waterwheels and money.

        No.

There’s not a lot of social activities I can’t currently participate in (that might improve soon), and the local population is too low for app dating to be realistic (if it is anyway?)

I’m just in a really weird mental place. Finally divorced, but still recovering from her cheating on me 5 years ago.

I learned a lot about the 15 years leading up to that. She was never really into me. She isolated me. She changed my social habits. She found ways to hurt my self esteem. She gaslit me, convinced me I was wrong about what a healthy relationship was, I was incapable of being a good father, I didn’t take on enough responsibility, I restricted her access to my resources. She love bombed me, so it trained me into accepting her statements.

I was stupid and tried to make it work. 3 years after she cheated on me, I caught her sexting with a guy, who she admitted was the guy she cheated on me with. I was 216 lbs at that point. In a few months I skyrocketed to 288.

I’ve since made a lot of improvements. We separated. We divorced. I’m down to 193 lbs, and and its muscle (unfortunately being fat stretches your skin too much to make that muscle nice and prominent, but it’s there). But I’m still 34. I don’t have connections to single people. I’m still fighting the abusive attachment, and I wonder if it’s because I don’t see an alternative.

        TL;DR: No

Community, compassion, and sharing of resources along with a sense of truth and objective reality all fly in the face of Empire building and mass population control for profits and will always be crushed sooner or later.

Maybe our grandkids will speak of some new form that rises briefly, a compassionate AI or some niche social media celebrity who catches on for a spell and makes everyone feel warm and fuzzy until they also get their metaphorical skulls crushed by the primates who want line to go up so they can afford to own other humans.

Miss Rachel has dealt with exactly this. She’s pro innocent children in Palestine, and the right went feral.
