No. He should do what he can to push out and fight against this current regime, but nobody likes him or wants him as a president. Nobody.

You’ve got to remember that you and I are not the average Democratic primary voter. Clearly there are plenty of Democrats who think this is a good idea.

You should read the article. In the pole referenced Newsom is in 6th place. He got a higher than expected percentage of the poling which the author has blown up here with their deceptive clickbaity headline. Possibly in an effort to make people think that Newsom is the favorite.

Not that I’d be really happy to vote for the actual favorite in the pole which is Kamala Harris. Though I would absolutely vote for her over Newsom any day of the week.

Why not? I don’t know much about him except that he isn’t 300 years old like the rest of the Democrats.

He seems to be doing a good job in California?

He’s just another slimy corporatist owned by the ultra wealthy, but throws a bone to the social issues of Democrats. Pretty much the same strategy that modern Democrats have had for the past 40+ years. I will absolutely vote for him in the general or support him in pushing against Trump/Repulicans, but he’s one of my least favorite Democrats now.

      That’s a pretty good point

I’m appreciating Newsom as a foil to Trump, and want him to continue that, but I really wouldn’t want him to be the Democratic nominee. I’d much rather have a Mamdani-esque nominee

Yeah it’s going to be Newsom vs Vance and the left will scream that it should have been Bernie and that they’ll be voting for Jill Stein.

Then maybe we should offer the left a candidate that they’ll vote for. It’d be a nice change of pace.

No, it’s going to be Newsom against Donald Trump Jr. , In an epic battle of Kimberly Guilfoyle’s exes…

(Yes, she was married to Newsom, and then engaged to Junior for years before they split up)

Not “anything” the Democrats will do, just the great, vast majority of things. Like running terrible candidates, on unpopular platforms, screwing over the voters, fighting to keep popular politicians and polices from getting on the ballot…

Leftists have been very clear about why the Democrats are failing their voters. A party that supports Capitalism can not support workers, simple as.

You can start listening to them and stop trying to bully them into submission any time you feel like engaging in reality.

People would listen if they actually showed up. If leftists are so numerous then it shouldn’t be a problem to get many candidates elected. See mamdani. But in general they do not.

So either that many leftists don’t exist or their policies aren’t actually that popular OR theyre too lazy or ideological to go vote.

Either way, it ensures “establishment” candidates go on to the general election.

The only time your voice matters is in the voting booth. Far too many eschew that.

Lefits show up and vote all the time. But the DNC keeps pushing them out of the race, so that they don’t get on the ballot.

Yeah…if that were true leftists would have the numbers and get people on the ballot. Or you’re just admitting that leftists are not nearly as numerous as you claim.

Again- look at Mamdani. Over 25% of voters hadn’t voted in a primary in over a decade. They finally decide to do so and ta da, a leftist wins the primary.

Honestly this is a good reason why the left is and will always be mostly ineffectual as a political movement.

When you’re not fighting yourselves over who’s the most ideologically pure you’re spouting shit like this.

Why are you talking like this before a primary even happens? Why do you want the Democratic party to lose? What you disparage as “infighting” sane people would call debate.

There’s a toxic impulse among some centrists, the kind of folks that the label “Blue MAGA” applies to. This toxic impulse is to take a very Big Brother or Trumpian approach to politics. Circle the wagons. Support the leadership no matter what. Don’t try to improve the party or make sure the best candidate wins. Don’t focus on holding bad actors accountable. Just vote for dear leader and everything will be fine.

You’re not even waiting til the after the primary to start vomiting “Vote Blue No Matter Who.”
