So many “Christians” seem to treat the religion as a “get out of Hell free” card. That’s what I think of the religion over all: it’s just an excuse for bad people to convince themselves they’re allowed to be awful. After all, what else can you take away from a religion that tells you any sin can be forgiven if you just ask? And these are the exact same people who turn around and claim Christianity and fear of Hell are the only thing keeping people moral. It’s genuinely an awful person who must believe fear is the only thing keeping them in line. A group of sociopaths to believe that empathy is strictly transactional.
