As US President Donald Trump gears up for the first major military parade in the US in decades, protesters are planning "No Kings" events all over the country on Saturday.
Actually, I think so. Remember that this guy wanted to gun down the Floyd protests not because he didn’t like the politics, but according to him, “good presidents don’t have riots”. He was willing to kill thousands of people just to preserve his own mental image of himself.
My governor has said he’s not sending in troops anywhere (after someone asked), but considering the EO allows the SecDef to literally send troops anywhere they feel is a “disruption of public order” in whatever quantity and capacity he deems fit, and considering Hegseth seems to be pretty much an administration hand puppet at this point…I’ll still go, but I’m definitely planning on knowing my escape routes just in case.
All bets are off at this point, but the “No Kings” event planners have made a point of avoiding that by steering things away from the fascist birthday cabaret performance scheduled for the same date in DC.
It’s a better idea to spread out the protests anyway. More protests over a wider area means the oppressors have to expend for manpower and resources to control the situation. Don’t let them concentrate their forces in one place, force them to spread out.
Probably a good idea, because if they are at the parade, Trump will boast that the crowd sizes were the biggest yet. Better to show in numbers how many people oppose him without Fox News being able to spin it as a pro-Trump rally
I think that’s exactly it. A worst-case scenario for the beneficiaries of that parade would be a completely deserted area with tumbleweeds blowing across the street.
Are we expecting the US equivalent of Tiananmen square?
Someone gonna stand in front of that tank at the parade?
I still like the prospect that it will literally rain on his parade.
I keep laughing about it.
Unfortunately unlike in that case the tank will actually run them over

Well that’s incredibly disappointing. People today have forgotten what it means to protest.

Fucker had to post on craiglist to pay for parade watchers. 🤣
Is he paying them? Is there a story on this somewhere?
