Racist people are wild. They will wake up and tell you an open white nationalist and Nazi isn’t racist and all of his own quotes are taken out of context, and pretend to be serious people.
Then dox people for not showing empathy to a man who hated empathy. The most delusional collective of ppl.
…“violence --”
Why is the left in US still at “look! they are breaking the rules!” stage when the right is so clearly at “fuck your rules” stage?
Billionaire media trained that thought terminator into them real good.
A lot of people don’t want to stoop to their level. They just don’t realize that the other side is t stooping, but rather has a large backhoe and is digging fast.
If you’ll notice, most of those decrying these statements are also preachers and believers of his doctrine. Those that don’t believe are mostly silent or minimally vocal to avoid being targeted by his disciples
Look, I’m happy he’s dead, but that’s not the logic.
The logic is, “He was killed for his speech, and this is being used to justify his assassination.”, which is 100% true. Being hateful has nothing to do with it. It’s not, nor has it ever been illegal to be a white supremacists. And the laws and protections apply to them just as much.
If you think the killing was justified, then you have lost faith in varying degrees the system can change things non violently. And you might be correct.
And before you are screeching at me I’m not saying both sides are equal or Kirk lovers aren’t retarded. I know they do it more often. But there is a world of difference between supporting the views of a retard Nazi and shooting them at a rally.
I agree with you here, and I’m struggling because it leads me to the tolerance paradox.
Ranking free speech above tolerance is what causes this. He didn’t tolerate others, he actively argued that people, including children, should die for various terrible reasons. He broke the social contract. He was no longer entitled to tolerance or protection from being killed. You lose that protection the second you say someone else should be killed because of who they were born as.
This free speech supremacy nonsense is garbage. White supremacists should not be tolerated in civil society. People who advocate for others to die (based on who they were born) deserve people advocating for and pursuing their death. You don’t get to get away with stochastic terrorism then pretend you didn’t do anything wrong.
America has a pedophile rapist who has committed murder by proxy for a leader.
The rule of law is gone. Executions of the right need to be celebrated, because they won’t receive justice any other way.
Personally, I do not think hate speech has any protections… so all the hot garbage Kirk used to spew does not count as speech… he was constantly attacking people and inciting violence which eventually caught up to him
It absolutely does. You cannot even murder them for inciting violence. It’s a prison term.
I’m not passing any moral judgment here. But understand what you’re saying. That would be illegal and their hate speech is absolutely protected.
Right wing idiots are literally crying “hate speech” when people respond to their “our sweet Jesus-loving Charlie who wanted peace and love and ponies and the evil leftists killed him” with quotes of him being a horrible piece of shit. This is aside from him being killed for his words, they’re trying to say his words were good and lashing out at irrefutable evidence to the contrary.
It is the logic. It’s not the only logic happening, but it is the logic here.
So I agree a lot of different things are being said with varying degrees of hoops and I most mostly agree with you. There is a lot of stupid out there.
But the above isn’t one of them. The meme ain’t great.
The guy justified school shootings by saying a few gun deaths are a worthwhile cost for gun rights. People are quoting him saying that to point out that it’s pretty hypocritical to get upset when Mr. “School shootings are acceptable actually” gets shot at a school.
If pointing out that hypocrisy is hate speech, then the original quote is absolutely hate speech.
Stupidity is a choice, not a diagnosis.
Racism/white nationalism is out on full display in the world. While there are plenty of hateful sacks of shit so stupid that they see people with different skin color and assume they’re bad and dangerous, there are also far, far more who are just going along with the flow and trends and don’t want to be punished by the system, by daddy turnip, by his administration, or by the other people who are also going along with it and jumping onto the bandwagon out of laziness and apathy.
This is how social attitudes are changed rapidly, it’s happened over and over in history. It just takes a handful of people normalizing something that most people would reject for entire empires to be toppled and for stable systems to be torn down.
If we were all broadly more aware of how fragile everything is and how much power we really have as groups, I like to think we would have a different world. I doubt we’ll see it though.
Because if it weren’t for double standards, Republicans would have no standards at all.
Christianity has helped train them in hypocrisy since birth.
Republicans are the good guys here. They’ve got twice as many standards as anyone else.
I would prefer them having none at all and just shut up about people celebrating the death of a fascist.
That is so confusing when you think about it… how can you go from 0 to 2 without going through 1? There must be some reflection going on, or rather projection.
This is getting dialectical fast
“Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition …There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.”
Came here to post this exact quote.
I think they main reason was…CK propped up his religion and how much he loved Jesus/Christianity.
Christianity will defend it’s own, even when that person is a huge piece of shit. Look at all the pedophiles in the church. Have you ever seen a church kick out someone like this? I havent.
This boils down to “if you say anything bad about CK, you’re saying bad things about my faith and religion”.
Wonder if its the same logic as “i can’t be racist, one of my friends is black!”
“It can’t be hate speech, im friends with donald trump!”
White
I think I missed something here. What did Charlie Kirk say about white people that could be considered hate speech?
Nothing. They’re saying it was okay for him to say those things that for others would be considered hate speech because he was white.
It wasn’t hate speech when CK said what he said because he was white when he said it? Is that what you’re implying with your one word comment.
Yes, that exactly what they are saying republicans would say. The implication si republicans are racists. I hope this doesn’t surprise you.
Yes
