  • I agree, but I don’t think there’ll be another real election here for a long time if ever, and I’d rather vote for her than another hypercapitalist enslaver with pride ribbons(D) to stop hypercapitalist enslaver with scapegoats® yet again as I’ve done my entire life in our descent to oblivion. There’s not really rational hope either way. The capitalists won and have us by the balls in every way, including tens of millions of deluded minds that have learned to love and defend the Massas and their “free market” directly against their own interests.

Climate change is going to end planetary scale civilization in 50 years max, probably 20-30. It’s blowing past all projections because we were conservative and both couldn’t and didn’t want to consider the runaway effects. I honestly think Kamala was my last pragmatic funeral dirge vote. Give me something to vote for and I’ll show up. I haven’t had a federal level candidate to vote for in a general in my entire life though. I doubt AOC will become the first after the DNC uses every lever to end any primary run.

  • Also because both of our major party machines would cooperate in attacking her.

Neoliberals would rather lose power than signal to their bribers that their party isn’t bought and paid for. President Ocasio-Cortez would be such a signal.

The DNC promotes on the basis of potential federal level reps getting bribe money. AOC was a spoiler and is not welcome in the party because of her views. That’s why the Neoliberals in congress don’t care Trump is in office and even help him with appointments.

Neoliberals like Pelosi would lock arms with the Fascists and treat a President AOC like the threat we wished they’d treat their fascist opposition like, but they have too much in common on the same Economic policy they’re both well bribed to enact and protect from us.

Which is why, all the more, AOC is a good choice. The hatred of our true oppressors on Wall Street is welcome. At worst, it will further demonstrate that the American people aren’t permitted by big corpo to have a real choice in governance, only hypercapitalist robber baron enablers paid to divide us on social wedges as they legislate new ways for the owners to monetize sucking us dry.

  • Neoliberals are still openly hostile towards her.

Queen Neoliberal Pelosi spent more time in the lameduck period undermining AOC’s committee appointment than Trump’s Presidency.

That’s good enough for me as a leftist knowing the context that she really is about as left wing as our pathetic, deluded, propagandized, under or miseducated populace could ever elect as we are.

I don’t have any hope anymore, this nation died with Reagan and it’s just a slow falling corpse as far as I’m concerned, but for anyone looking to cling to at least borderline rational hope, someone in her position is your best bet, because she’s a known name, that matters in our shitty celebrity obsessed culture, she proves every day that a leftist can be professional and govern, that matters because leftists are painted as anarchist boogiemen without a plan in most American news media, and she’s photogenic and naturally charasmatic, which shouldn’t matter but sadly does.

There isn’t an individual to the left of her that I can think of that could conceivably get elected President in this cesspool of willful ignorance and systemically stoked division of the poors, can you? Even her becoming President would be a moonshot. That isn’t a knock on her, she’s one of about 4 members of congress (or executives in the fortune 1000) I’d give a glass of water to if they were dying of thirst, that’s a knock on our gold plated shithole and people, not her. She’s a diamond in the rough.

  • Harris had Liz Cheney on stage with her. Liz Cheney is a monster, and we courted her. It only drove actual potential voters on the left away.

There aren’t any sane Republicans to court. Stop with the Overton window bullshit. Stop trying to meet the sociopath by choice movement in the middle. It’s been racing us to the doom we’re sitting in for as long as I’ve been alive. We need to elect an enemy of the capital markets on no uncertain terms. Someone that would enslave our economy to exist in service to the needs of the citizenry as it always should have been, because corporations aren’t people, and should not exist if they are serving few or one at the expense of the rest of the citizenry. It should be the corporate burden to prove why it should exist at all by showing how society is better off because of it. Given the power theyve shown they will always accumulate and abuse, I’m for a perpetual corporate death penalty on a hair trigger for the slightest of antisocial activity.

If we don’t make an extreme move left from this fascist hellscape, it’s all just rearranging deck chairs.

If by some miracle we have another free election, managing to elect another neoliberal to move the Democrats closer to the Fascists as they have for 50 years will just keep the table set for the fascists to march again in another 4. Fascism is the union of the state and big business, the only thing the Neoliberals don’t add to that stew is the cruelty and scapegoating as the people are robbed blind, they save that special sauce for their esteemed opposition, but they are both all about mass homelessness, and entire economic sectors murdering Americans when it’s profitable in state sanctioned confidence schemes like our deathcare system. Thats neoliberal and fascist bipartisan supported and defended from we the people.

The capital markets must be dismantled with extreme prejudice, any value redistributed in order of the worst off aka the capitalists greatest victims who they haven’t yet murdered, with currency retied to labor or active stake (working at) in a company/cooperative. If we refuse to do that, highly likely, nothing can improve and get comfortable in misery and cruelty.

  • I would say such a view means you couldn’t love your own children, not being willing to fight those that would, given the opportunity, take money for your child’s care, then deny that care when they needed it to live.

That’s like a cow knowing their child is about to get the piston to their skull and telling their child to love the pistoner with grace. Very Jesus-y, but an awful parent.

  • You say that as if this is a retaliation, then peace, then retaliation.

United Healthcare murdered people for profit yesterday. They are today. They will tomorrow. This is an active attack. An active slaughter is upon the people, though the owners just call it business, whether we would fight back or not.

Don’t confuse quiet for peace. We haven’t had peace here in decades.

  • Do you think we could have loved the Nazis into standing down and stopping their genocide?

Do you think you can love a sociopath capitalist murdering for profit into no longer doing so?

Do you think plotting to run up and Hug Brian would have saved a single life? Because BlueCross, at least for now, reversed a policy to deny enough anesthesia for surgeries because of what Luigi allegedly did. He brought about positive change to some, for now, however temporary.

I don’t believe in justice in another life there’s no evidence of. Loving hate just gets you mowed down, this isn’t a fairy tale or a movie. If we want to turn an unjust world into a just one, good vibes won’t cut it when the people in charge don’t even view us as people due to no meaningful net worth.

  • Who you murder matters.

I have zero problem with all the Nazis the Allies murdered in WW2.

This is a class war occupation. The Class war was lost in the 80s, the people were tricked into surrendering without terms. Luigi, an alleged traitor to his class bless him, tried to foment a resistence/revolution to the class occupation most of us suffer under.

The idea that change must be nonviolent is something that the oligarchs put in our heads to maintain their control, which includes violence using captured government force against us. Most nations were founded using violence, including this one. Further, the oligarchs have captured both major parties, leaving us to bicker on social issues, and without a vote on the shape and priorities of the sociopathic economy both parties are well paid to defend from us, the people that suffer it. Our nonviolent options have been taken away, as we’re encouraged to be divided and hate our fellow laborers on every conceivable wedge so we never look up. Divide and profit.

Brian was murdering Americans in swaths. His murder weapon was snake oil, a con: “buy our service as your preparation for inevitable illness! Just give us your money every month, and you’ll be prepared when you need life saving care…” “… Oh you’re sick now? You’ll die without care you expect us to pay for? Whatever gave you the idea we’d pay for your care? Thanks for all the premiums, fuck off and die, poorie sucker.”
