The vast majority of human history operated on gift economies. Oppressive systems of government (and governments in general) are much more of a recent invention in the grand scheme lf things.

Capitalism was the system of economics from the get go. This allows people who want power (money) to be able to obtain it ad infinitum, which leads to corruption being possible since politicians can be bought.
The only people politicians “service” are their donors.
Ah, I thought you were talking about the concept of electoral politics in general and not this specific moment in the US.
How can they learn what they already knew? The weakness/corruption/etc. is on purpose to serve their donors. The DNC already knows how powerful a leftist, grassroots movement is, which is why they snub the lefty candidate at every chance instead of letting their namesake run its course.

I wish Israel would also be trying him for war crimes and join the ICC, but that’s a tall dream.
Maybe in our current state, where corruption can occur, but in a new, more democratic system where corruption can’t occur because no single person will have enough wealth or the financial incentive to be able to buy politicians.
The problem isn’t electoral politics, but that we don’t live in a democracy.

The Democratic party has always just been another branch of the wealthy. Neoliberalism is a cancer that really kicked into gear when Heritage Foundation-backed president Ronald Reagan came into office. Obama (I believe in his second term) said that back in the 80s, he would have been considered a moderate Republican.
