What the actual fuck. How much farther does this fascist piece of shit have to go before people realize we will not vote our way out of this mess and the only chance we have to stop this madness is to put our lives on the line and fight for what is right. Not just posting about it, or going to marches supported by the controlled opposition party funded by the same billionaires who fund and support this demagogue. Polite non violent demonstrations do not threaten the power structure while they continue to violently suppress any meaningful change. We are at least 5 phases into the same journey of fascism Germany underwent almost a century ago. And everyone is too fucking worried about mowing their lawns, working for garbage wages at jobs they mostly hate and watching their favorite TV shows to face the reality of what is actually happening.

    Jumping straight to using violence gives these people false justification to let the military off the chain. Everyone who is not a fucking idiot knows this, so is trying to get control back where it matters: in the populace first.

    If you want to be an absolute fucking idiot, go ahead and start something.

        Taking back the electorate has been the only way to successfully disarm these false nationalist movements. You need to change minds and reduce their support before any types of altercations will seem worth it to justifiable to the people putting their lives on the line. Being in the minority of a specific skirmish and not having popular support just gets you and your supporters dead. Eroding any kind of support your opponent has FIRST is the necessary path.

          That’s an impossible condition. Even the worst, least competent governments out there have some popular support, and the whole point of fascism is that it uses populist rhetoric to appeal to uninformed people in economic and social uncertainty. You might get a majority of the populace on your side, but support for fascism will never go below 30% or so. Also the majority of America is already opposed to fascism; their opposition is just too milquetoast to actually amount to anything. Turning that knob is the clearest and most reliable path to victory, certainly more reliable that convincing fascists that fascism is bad, actually. Also, people don’t rally behind a cause that doesn’t exist; you need to actually do things before you can expect people to join you. They don’t need to be drastic things, but convincing people that action is possible and productive is the first step to getting anything done.

      Jumping straight to using violence

      I know everyone is brought up on movies and video games but the next step after “writing letters and standing around with signs” is not charging the White House guns blazing. That’s stupid.

      The next steps are actual protests. I’m talking about stopping production, stopping things from working, blocking roads, blocking government. Shut. It. Down.

      That is the next step. Leave the guns at home (for now).

      But what are we going to do, peacefully protest loiter?

      enforce prohibitions on urban camping and loitering;

      Editing to clarify:
      If every unpermitted protest is deemed loitering, then it does not matter if people ‘start something’ because they will get scooped up, and thrown into jail for expressing their first amendment rights.
      I don’t know how long it will take for the courts to clarify/nuke the clause, but it’ll be enough time that plenty of people will lose their jobs for just trying to express their rights.
