The idea of having to worry about my kids work schedule on top of school and my own shit to do in return for starvation wages? Nah, we’re good.

    The worst fucking timeline.

I guess the baby-talk “maga” means - bring back child labor. That was the time period when America was greatest?

Epstien did replaced adults with children first. I suspect these dipshits will be remembered just as fondly.

The sad thing is I remember this Fox anchor saying this before months ago. As in either this clip is being re-used or re relished in the way his base reacted to it and wanted to double down on it

You might be mixing up idiots. I can’t find a prior occasion where this particular idiot embarrassed himself over this issue. I mean, he seems to embarrass himself regularly, but not on this issue that I could find. On the other hand, DeSantis did it earlier this year.

During a recent immigration-focused discussion with President Donald Trump’s border czar Tom Homan at the New College of Florida in Sarasota, DeSantis offered up the idea of teens filling the gaps left by undocumented workers.

“They said, ‘Oh, you know, you’re not going to be able to hire people’ or whatever,” DeSantis said. “What’s wrong with expecting, like, our young people to be working part time now? I mean, like, that’s how it used to be when I was growing up.”

“If they’re old enough for sex, they’re old enough for work.” Republican logic.

Also reminder that 100% of all Republican logic begins with a fallacy

@Redditsux At what point do liberals realize Fox News is how conservative psychopaths float ideas? This one is beyond the pale. If conservatives had brains, they would realize the wealthy are trying to recreate slavery through inadequate education, low wages, and limited opportunities to move to better places to work. On top of that, they seem really fond of raping our kids, if the defense of Trump is any indication. Conservatives are the main problem.

The problem is, we all know what the most effective solution to ever-growing “conservative” (reactionary) terror is, but nobody wants to say it (i.e., it’s how our forebears handled the Nazis and the Confederates).

Nobody wants to go there, though, because that’s a bell that cannot be unrung. And, let’s face it, it’s horrible. So neolibs, actual conservatives, and left-of-center moderates are quietly clinging to the faint hope that the rubes at large will get gobsmacked by good sense and then vote themselves out of this mess soon. I want that, too, but I’m not so optimistic.

It’s always been about slavery for this subset of the population, right from the very beginning of the formation of the country. Not just money, not just power in an abstract sense, but the kind of power that only comes with slavery.

The fascism is only a means to slavery. They’ll take it as far as they’re allowed.

I started doing farm work when I was 9 after school and during the summers in WNC and it motivated me to do anything I could to no have to do that shit work as an adult. Not much else to do other than going in the military which I did. To hear these fuckers wanting to use child labor for shit pay is infuriating.

I started doing farm work when I was 9 after school and during the summers in WNC and it motivated me to do anything I could to no have to do that shit work as an adult.

I had so many different crap and low-paying jobs from the age of about 14 to after graduating from college, and - the first job that paid much was a farm and it was under the table and it was rough. The only job that possibly worked me harder (although since it was at crazy hours of the night, at least it was not quite as hot) was at a packaging place, unloading/loading trucks.

I felt the same way as you - definitely motivated me to finish the degree so I could do nearly anything else, especially if it was indoors and had HVAC.

I’m sure cons would say that is something that molded me into who I am today, but I’m not someone that then wants to turn around and also want people that follow me to have it just as bad; I want people to have it better than I did, FFS.
