The California governor said the troops had been left without food or water in federal buildings
Hundreds of National Guard troops deployed to Los Angeles under Donald Trump’s orders are reportedly idle and without clear directives, California Gov. Gavin Newsom revealed, calling the situation a political stunt.
The controversy stems from Trump’s decision to send 2,000 Guard troops to Los Angeles over the weekend in response to protests against aggressive ICE operations. On Monday, Newsom said he was informed another 2,000 were en route, even though most of the first wave had not been mobilized.
Only about 300 have been actively deployed, while the rest remained in federal buildings “without orders,” according to Newsom. The governor said the troops had been left without food or water, and accused the White House of misusing military resources to bolster Trump’s image.
Good.
Hi all, I hope people hear this and the post is not hidden. This is an insecure system, and talking on here about things you want to or will do will be used by the regime.
Please take this as it is meant. I fully appreciate the anger and the pain you are all feeling, and you are totally right to fight, but you must fight smart.
DO NOT LET YOUR ANGER GET THE BEST OF YOU. If this goes the way it’s looking like it might, direct fights with whatfever is left of the States’ forces is suicide, and the good guys need all the boots on the ground you can muster.
There are many veterans of the war on terror who are literal experts on the tactics needed to win this; seek them out.
Assume all coms are monitored because they are. Look after each other, people.
A friend who knows the score.
…something tells me we don’t want them to have orders.
So - just wander around in fatigues? Do a little shopping maybe. Start a pickup game?
Anything that’s not “shoot protesters”.
Clownshow country.
Interesting how he sent our troops to a fake ‘war’ with no real plans or preparedness. Just. Like. Putin.
This little stunt cost $134 million dollars.

Come on TACO Don. Pump those fees up for making us pay $4 for eggs.
Don’t forget the millions for the penis parade. These two events alone are wasting 200 million. Be sure to call your rep and let them know you found negligent government spending.
And they didn’t even get fed!
The good news is all the National Guard members will lose some Medicaid care to cover it. So. It works out.
So if nobody else is in charge of them, Newsom should take command and order them to go back home.
Order them to protect the protestors from the police. Use their crowd control to keep the cops from using tear gas and rubber bullets on peaceful protestors and reporters.
“Shield the protestors from the law.”
Order them to work on wildfire and climate preparedness
I hope this informs their decision whether or not to follow illegal, inhuman orders.
So…
Time to set up a couple of food trucks, and get some people to talk civics and constitution. Meet some people, make some friends, take the opportunity NOW.
TACO trucks, even
Trump got what he wanted. You can be certain that right-wing media will spin this as, “the only reason the troops were idle is that the President’s quick action quelled the protests.”
Well Trump or Fox’s take on the result doesn’t matter to me because Trump’s going to lie and spin things no matter what happens…
- Protests stay about the same or increase in intensity: Bringing in the Guard was the right call, look at how this is getting out of control!
- Protests get less intense: Bringing in the Guard fixed the problem!
The narrative to counter that is that the Guard didn’t actually do anything except inflame tensions.
Is this state’s rights, small government or fiscal responsibility?
I thought it was killing kings.
Whatever, there’s gonna be tacos, right?
Does any one know where they are being warehoused?
Seems like an opportunity for a geofenced, highly targeted ad campaign., informing service members that they have the right and obligation to resist illegal orders.
I read somewhere that they’re mostly hanging out around federal buildings.
Got time to lean, got time to
cleancruise ticktok and become exposed to furry propaganda.
Also to have food and water outside for anyone inside who wants to defect.
Free donuts if you promise to not violate the USMJ/ Geneva Conventions (pinky swear required)
Additional ice cream if you reaffirm the oath you took to protect the constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic.
Nothing illegal about sitting around and doing nothing… or riot defense against a building though… Which is the only things I’ve seen thus far.
Their federal mobilization was the illegal act.
Except that they have been illegally deployed.
That’s not up to the Joe.
And no they haven’t. They’re under northcom. Northcoms primary duty/role is to respond to these events. My unit was trained for a rotation under for this exact duty back in 2010.
Respond to these events when the governor orders them to. The governor has not ordered them to deploy.

There is a long and storied history of federalizing the National Guard.
And there are laws in place to allow it.

But once again… This is not up to the Joe (the rank and file member of the military) to discern.
Edit: No offense to anyone… but it’s clear that none of you have served in any military capacity. Nor have any meaningful knowledge of how any of it works.
There have been reports of them shooting protesters.
Source?
That was mostly the LAPD. been watching the livestreams all weekend and NG haven’t done shit besides stand around a fed building.
No but its an opportunity to maybe reach some service members and change some hearts and minds.
I mean, I literally started watching Democracy Now! when I was enlisted because I could download it as an MP3 before going underway.
You might be surprised how effective trying to change people can be.
That’s not relevant. Service members have the right and obligation to resist illegal orders, and they should be reminded of that before those illegal orders are handed down.
I’m not in the military but I know many service members, I’d be shocked if their commanding officers didn’t give them warnings about illegal actions.
It’s drilled into our heads over and over in training. Everyone knows it’s their duty to refuse illegal orders and there’s absolutely no defense for not doing so.
That was the point I was trying to make.
COs need to hear it, too, since they’ve got the responsibility not to pass those illegal orders down to the boots.
Using this as an opportunity to re-promote this, but I helped organize this panel back last December because I knew this was coming:
