This sounds like someone who doesn’t know about organ transplants. I learned about lung transplants recently and about half of people die within 5 years of getting one. Those who make it longer often having major issues like popcorn lung that force them to live limited lives due to the complications. They also require lots of medications to make your body not reject them. Those meds can be difficult to actually take if you also have other issues that require different courses of medication like infection or cancer.
Biological or effective immortality would be the worst fucking technology for humans to discover right now.

I keep hearing people make this argument. This seems to presume that these insane blood thirsty dictators discussing immortality, are also rational individuals who wouldn’t be willing to stockpile organs first, then die trying.
I look forward to Putin dying in agony as his body finally rejects itself entierly due to numerous transplants compounded with horrific co-infections due to all the imuno supressants he’d have to be after going throguh that many transplants. I brushed it off bc of who was giving the testimony, but honestly this comment from Putin makes me question if there is some truth to that. If you were able to find a match with genetic similarities to yourself, it would decrease the chance of the organ being rejected. Idk could be just a random coincidence.
The accusations against China using re-education camps to harvest organs closely matched to the recipient aren’t limited to only these kinds of organizations though. There was also this article released this past summer

These procedures align with organ compatibility testing, raising fears that Uyghurs are being prepped for organ harvesting while in detention.
