I don’t know that’d I call preventing child rape “morality policing” for either state but I suppose it is.
I’d argue that the means are barbaric and obviously ripe for political abuse and corruption.
Bad idea, there are a lot of false convictions. If you wrongly get catsrated that is it.
If anything, castrating a sex offender makes it _easier _ for him to commit offences.
Far less DNA evidence plus the relative ease of cis men getting testosterone and erectile dysfunction pills.

I might be okay with castration for violent rape. The problem is when it’s considered a sex crime for an 18 year old to have sex with a 17 year old. And a lot of other things are branded as sex crimes that shouldn’t be. And Republicans want to make it a sex crime to be gay or transgender
Maybe they can study all the balls and clits to figure once and for all how to make our sex organs much much bigger naturally.
In most of the southern states, having sex with children is legal if you marry them first. (And minors can’t file for divorce!)
Coincidentally, (IIRC) most child marriages are because of pregnancy.
My teenage mother didn’t marry my father (she was 15, he was in his twenties), but she didn’t immediately find another guy to marry and get knocked up by. She was so fucked up by this that she told me that my biological father was an entirely different adult man (who she had never had sex with but had a crush on). If I had been born male, then she would have named me after a classmate she thought was cute.
So we can assume they will start with rooting out all the pedophile clergy, yes? No more “transfers” from one small town to the next set of vulnerable rubes?
Rape is about power, not sex. Why is this being discussed?
It’s like the death penalty, once you kill someone it’s too late to say sorry when new evidence comes out and they are innocent.
It’s also like the death penalty that it riles people up, they say “God Damn Right” and “They DESERVE IT my mofuckin’ KIDS gotta be PROTECTED” while painting anyone who doesn’t like it as sympathetic to perverts.
So, it’s going to probably work really well.
Any time they wanna make a new punishment or criminalize some behavior I figure it’s just because they don’t plan on applying it to white people.
I’ve never figured wrong on this.

And yeah, with black men being the objects of white psychosexual fears this has a lot of opportunity to become yet another means of disproportionate suffering of black men at the hands of the justice system and for eugenics.
So imagine what that number looks like for all sexual assaults against women and girls.
No State government gives a tiny shit about women getting raped. It’s just a cudgel to punish poor men and maintain the illusion that law enforcement protects women in America.
Yeah, I’ve seen how little cops care first hand. In fact, they managed to focus more on the race of the perpetrator, while ignoring the footprints that clearly indicated that they were wrong about how he got in.
If the justice system actually cared about victims of sexual violence they’d focus on tried and true known methods of reducing recidivism and they’d actually test rape kits
