Iran experienced an unbelievably dramatic pendulum swing back and forth in the 20th century.

History is complicated, culture is complicated, societies are complicated. Many of the people of Iran are not perpetrators of evil, but victims of it.

This is why you shouldn’t reduce entire nations and peoples to “evil,” not least because in doing so you reduce them and separate them from a vague sense of “not evil,” which will only inevitably lead to more evil.

Evil is found in every history. It is always present, always waiting, always possible in every corner of the globe. To face and fight evil is not just to face and fight an individual enemy or even a nation, but to stand vigilant at all times against this very same evil finding root in your heart and your home.

Important to note - again - that they have not disclosed this alleged breakthrough to the public.

Also important to note that this strike happened a day after the Israeli parliament nearly dissolved - specifically, they remained solvent because they codified an exemption for the Ultra-Orthodox from the military draft.

Almost as if they want to use the attack to solidify the war machine and distract their citizens from the fact the most conservative among them do not have to risk their lives in “defense” like the other 87% of the country.

As you said, the nuclear program is well documented. The very recent closure to UN inspections is a major concern, but it does not indicate some unknown breakthrough.

Israel literally informed the US prior to the strikes. Israeli intelligence and American intelligence is deeply intertwined. Israel struck known enrichment sites and headquarters in the capital city.

If they had identified and targetted an illegal development black site, they would have every reason to verify it themselves. They have not.

“I think it’s been excellent. We gave them a chance and they didn’t take it,” Trump told ABC on Friday morning. “They got hit hard, very hard. They got hit about as hard as you’re going to get hit. And there’s more to come, a lot more.”

This sounds very “not involved”

They are claiming self defense in part due to Iran’s nuclear weapons program. The implication being that there is an immediate threat.

First, [the Israeli official] alleged that the Iranian government is advancing a “secret program” to develop nuclear weapons. The U.S. intelligence community assesses that Iran is not actively pursuing a nuclear weapon. Secondly, the Israeli official said, Iran has thousands of ballistic missiles. Finally, he said Iran has been distributing weapons and arms to proxy groups across the region, like Hezbollah and Hamas.

Given the interference in Ukraine’s military aid that was also required by law passed by Congress, they are only as binding as the government’s willingness to be bound. Congress can repeal it, and apparently trhe President can just ignore it because the points are made up and the rules don’t matter.

Their nuclear program is well documented. The allegation that they are imminently capable of producing or deploying a nuclear weapon is not.

Important to note that it’s more than just hypocrisy, it’s probably also a complete lie.

Since February, the U.S. has held approximately 500 migrants at the Guantanamo facility, according to last week’s court filing. Sen. Gary Peters, the top Democrat on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, said last month that the use of the facility appears to cost $100,000 per day for each detainee.

During the peak of the war on terror, the U.S. held 780 people at the Guantanamo Bay facility. Pentagon officials were shocked by Trump’s order in January to house some 30,000 people there.

It physically and economically can’t be done. The most over-funded military in the world didn’t bother to supply the National Guard with food, water, or bedding in Los Angeles.

They’re sending these people to die.

Posse Comitatus supersedes that. It is specifically a restriction of the powers of officials and a law against an abuse of office. It has nothing to do with the personal shield that the Supreme Court gave him. It’s one of the few cases where he would be officially liable for the crime, rather than personally.

Not that any of it matters, since these laws aren’t being enforced anyway.

No American has a right to talk like this. Our history inspired much of the Nazi ideology around eugenics, we supplied the early Nazi war machine, we allowed a rally of twenty thousand Nazis to sell out Madison Square Garden the same year we turned away the ship St. Louis full of a thousand refugees, and we dragged our feet until we had absolutely no choice but to join the conflict.

We exclusively joined out of self interest at the last possible hour, and the entire world suffered for our mistakes.

If not for Pearl Harbor, we would have watched the fall of Europe and the rise and inevitable nuclear armament of Nazi hegemony, and we would never have achieved the economic prosperity of the mid to late 20th century. The sleeping giant would have slowly but surely died in obscurity while the Axis powers dragged the entire globe into a new Dark Age. Assuming we didn’t outright join them or engage in mutually assured destruction with Nazis first.

The US did the right thing in the end by becoming an Ally, but only because the Axis chose to make us an enemy first. We saved ourselves. Nothing more, nothing less.

Service Employees International Union California President David Huerta was injured and detained while documenting an immigration enforcement raid in downtown Los Angeles on Friday.

Huerta, 58, was treated at a hospital and then transferred to the Metropolitan Detention Center in downtown L.A.

“What happened to me is not about me; This is about something much bigger,” he said in a statement from the hospital. “This is about how we as a community stand together and resist the injustice that’s happening. Hard-working people, and members of our family and our community, are being treated like criminals. We all collectively have to object to this madness because this is not justice.”

A senior DHS spokesperson sent ABC7 a statement Friday, but did not directly address the investigations at both locations.

The statement said in part, “ICE is now following the law and placing these illegal aliens in expedited removal, as they always should have been.”

If they have a valid credible fear claim, they will continue in immigration proceedings, but if no valid claim is found, aliens will be subject to a swift deportation."

The SEIU President David Huerta is literally the Union leader for the restaurants targeted by these raids.

“Expedited removal” means no due process. No judge. No justice. ICE rolled in with military vehicles, arrested kidnapped over a hundred people in a single day, and will send them all out of the country as fast as they can without any chance to defend themselves or prove they belong here.

They knew what would happen when they raided a city and rounded up people by the truckload. They knew it would spark protests, and in less than two days of unrest and zero dead anyone they’re already sending in thousands of National Guard and talking about deploying the fucking Marines on US soil.

They wanted this violence, and they’re making it happen. This won’t just be in San Diego. This won’t just be protests. There will be blood. Don’t let them win.

Remember this, everyone. The Boston Massacre was the day that “laid the foundation for Independence.”
